Most apps stop at projects. AltoFocus keeps going — to areas, goals, vision, purpose and legacy — and holds that thread all the way down to today's task.

*For people whose list is full but who still feel they aren't moving where they want to.*

## The situation

Lucy is a doctor and a mother of two. She gets her tasks done, yet at the end of the year she realises she never started the pottery course she was looking forward to and spent less time with the kids than she meant to. Her goals are written in a planner she never opens.

## What it looks like in AltoFocus

1. **Start at the top, briefly.** On the Horizons screen you write one sentence per altitude: what you want to leave behind, why you do what you do, where you want to be in three to five years. A few words are enough — you'll refine them in reviews.
2. **Goals linked to projects.** The goal “A pottery studio at home by spring” is linked to the Studio project. Projects without a goal and goals without a project show up as gaps.
3. **A quiet “why” line.** Under “Order a kiln” you see, in small type, the goal it leads to. No motivational slogans — just a reminder of why it's worth it.
4. **Only for you.** Everything above projects is private and never shared, not even with people you share projects with. The AI reads your identity layer only if you allow it in settings.

## What changes

- Goals that appear in your daily list, not just in January.
- Clarity about which projects you can drop with a clear conscience.
- A weekly review that asks about direction, not only deadlines.
